New Ewoks & Droids forum!

I am in the process of creating a forum for this site. It's still under construction, but feel free to check it out at the link on the top right.

Spotlight on the Links

Here is a fan site that is definitly worth checking out. At Imperial Shipyards you can read up on all the latest collecting news, talk to the friendly people in the forums, ask questions to Hasbro that will be answered in a bi-weekly Q&A and much more! And of course, check out their threads on Ewoks and Droids in the forums!

Character Bios: Day 4

Oh dear! C-3PO is in trouble again in the Droids series! Throughout the series, C-3PO and R2-D2 find themselves in many sticky situations with their masters Thall Joben, Jann Tosh and Mungo Baobab.

Ebay Today: Animation Cell

Ebay Today: Droids Books

Today's Ebay Today spotlight is on a couple of books from the Droids series. Here's a couple of great stories from the Jann Tosh story arc that would make for a fun read. Like yesterday's Ebay Today column, I didn't know that these existed either! These can be found here.

Character Bios: Day 3

Princess Kneesaa was not in Return of the Jedi, but she was a major character in the Ewoks cartoon. Besides being a good good friend of Wicket her main role was to give girls a reason to watch the show.

Spotlight on the Links

If you want to find more on Droids and Ewoks, why not take a look at some of my "Links worth checking". One great site is The Art of Jeff Carlisle. Jeff has done some amazing sketches of some of the characters, vehicles and worlds of Droids that were featured in Polyhedron magazine. Check out some of his work, you'll be glad you did!

Character Bios: Day 2

Here's R2-D2 from Droids! The cartoon shows us a lot more about R2's personality than we ever knew. For instance, did you know that R2 likes to breakdance, and for a short period of time he even had a girlfriend? Okay, those are some of the not so fond memories of Droids for me, but for the most part, he is still the good old R2-D2 that we got to know in the movies.

Ebay Today: Day 2

Here's a nice find that I didn't even know existed: a Princess Kneesaa Ice Capades print! What a find! Character Bios: Day 1

Here is what will become another regular feature on this site: Character bios! For day 1, we look at the hero of the Ewoks series.

Ebay Today: Tig Fromm action figure

Here's day one of what I plan on making a regular feature: highlighting some of the Ewoks and Droids items for sale on Ebay.
Today I just had to show this pristine looking Tig Fromm figure. It sure looks nice for it's age, but one thing that doesn't look too nice is the price! He's listed at a buy it now price of $249.99!
As you can see, Kenner forgot to add the red highlights outfit, but that's 1980's Kenner painting for you. Just think of what Hasbro could do today!
For some reason, the picture comes out looking transparant, at least on my computer. If it does on yours, just click on the picture for a clearer shot.
To check out this and other Tig Fromm items, just follow the link:

On a personal sidenote, this was the last vintage Star Wars figure that my brother and I purchaced way back in 1986.

Memories...

Ah, the memories! It's been over 20 years since the Ewoks and Droids cartoons first aired, and now that the new 3D Clone Wars series will soon be airing this fall, it seems like an appropriate time to look back at these original series.

I still remember reading in Bantha Tracks way back in the mid '80's that there would soon be Star Wars cartoons coming to our TV screens, one featuring the adventures of C-3PO and R2-D2, and the other featuring the super popular characters introduced in Return of the Jedi: the Ewoks!

On the day that both of these series both aired, I remember waking up around 5AM to tune in (for some reason it was a very early showing for us in British Columbia). What a thrill to hear those theme songs for the first time! The shows did seem a little corny compared to the coolness of the Star Wars movies, but for a kid they were still a lot of fun, and they assured fans that Star Wars would live on even after the Original Trilogy had come to an end.
